What traditional public schools are located in my district (District 7)?

Why did I want to serve as the District 7 school board representative?

I believe that as a result of my 31 years of educational experience, combined with a background of over 25 year’s of business experience and community involvement, I can make a positive contribution on our school board.  I offer 3 Areas of Experience:  Education, Community, and Business!

What do I believe in?

I stand in support of fiscal responsibility, growth management, and academic accountability

My G.O.A.L.S. are to:

• support continued Growth management, with local increased local government input

• encourage parent and community Ownership and involvement in our schools

• support increased academic Achievement but without undue stress that discourages a love of learning

• promote lifelong Learning by all students

• advocate continued fiscally responsible School construction

My background?

I grew up in the Greenville, SC area and graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 1969.  I attended Greenville Technical College in 1970 and graduated with a diploma in auto mechanics.  I worked in the auto repair business for a couple of years before deciding to attend college in Lakeland.

When did I move to Polk County?

I moved to Lakeland in 1972 to attend Southeastern University.  After my wife and I both graduated from college we decided to begin our careers here with the local school system and make Polk County our home.
